FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS > INFO ABOUT FUMC of PLANT CITY > What community-oriented programs do you offer?
As a church dedicated to the following of Jesus, we believe it is very important that we use our gifts, talents, and facility to what He did - help others.
The SHARE program is here to ease the financial burden of providing food for families. By signing up for SHARE, families are able to select and purchase food - meat, vegetables, fruit, grains - at a heavily discounted price. More information about SHARE is coming shortly to this website, if you'd like more info, contact the church office.
Fishes and Loaves Cafe - This is a recent undertaking at FUMC of Plant City that is truly allowing us to use our facility for God's love. We have many needy families in our community, especially in our current economic condition where folks are being let go from jobs all over. We realize it can become an immense struggle to provide for a family, so FUMC is opening up its kitchen to feed our community. We've partnered with the Food Bank and are receiving referrals from them - their mission statement, “A help Up, not A Hand-Out!”.
This ministry happens each Thursday and can always use a loving hand.
