Pastor Earl's Sermon is Posted Here

On Sunday, Pastor Earl shared with the congregation that he would post his sermon. Look for it here on his blog page. Then in a few days return to the blog as he updates it with a list of helps or ways that you can connect more clearly with God as you seek his signs on a daily basis. For now, digest the sermon. Later in the week look for his follow-up!

You will find my blog page listed under the MEDIA tab.

Christ Community Cafe'

We are beginning a "feed the need" ministry here at the church.  The "Community Team", consisting of members of 4 different churches (so far) met on Tuesday, the 4th of January.  We will be "hosting" our very first community out-reach meal to those in need on February 4th, 2011 from 11:30-1:00 in the Wesley Centre.

The menu will be nutritious and donated by Buddy Bass (Manna on Wheels).  First Church will provide the drinks.  I will need volunteers to help welcome and serve our guests as well as to clean up after the meal.  We will be offering this lunch every Friday from 11:30-1:00.  We have also discussed funding for this project and welcome your ideas.  Our next meeting is January 21st at 9 AM in the Library.  You are welcome to attend!

Below is a sign-up sheet to volunteer.  Just print, sign and put in the offering plate or hand to Nancy Chaney.  The Community Team will draw on all volunteers from the other churches and community so that no one will be asked to serve every Friday---unless you want to!

PUMPKIN PATCH WAS GREAT!

We would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped us work the Pumpkin Patch this year.  It is because of all of you that we were able to have the best year the Pumpkin Patch has ever had!  After our payment for the pumpkins, expenses and dividing the profit up, we will be giving $1,000 to help furnish the third floor.  That means that up to this point the LOFT Students have given $5,000 to help supply the third floor with furnishings.  Again, thank you to everyone who helped make this year's Pumpkin Patch the best ever!

Parents, you will be receiving the November edition of the LOFT Student Ministries newsletter early this week.  If you have not received it by Wednesday then we may not have your e-mail address on file.  Please send an e-mail to YouthMin@Tampabay.rr.com if do not receive the newsletter by Wednesday.

CUBAN SANDWICH SALE!

The Men's Group here at FUMC of Plant City will be making and selling (and maybe sampling...shhhh) cuban sandwiches THIS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 24 to raise funds for the Children and Youth.

These are 9inch authentic cuban bread sandwiches - the bread is baked wrapped in palmetto leaves!  It'll include spanish pork, ham, and salami, cheese, mayo, mustard, and pickles.  Muy Bueno!

They are only $4.  Yay inexpensive Sunday lunch!

In order to guarantee your cuban, send a message with your name and the number of cubans you want.

Money is collected when you pick up your cubans Sunday morning.  They will be ready after the first service, Sunday School, and the second service under the walkway between the Wesley Centre and Sanctuary (Mahoney St).

Proceeds will help with the brand new spaces being built on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the Wesley Centre for Children and Youth.

¡Gracias y bendito sea Dios!

The second important meeting is for all of the LOFT parents.  There are many exciting new elements we are adding to the LOFT Student Ministries this year and so we hope that you plan to attend our first parent meeting of the new school year.  We will be meeting on Wednesday, September 29 at 7:15 p.m.  This meeting is a great chance for you to ask any questions you may have about anything that the LOFT is doing.  The LOFT will remain open for the duration of our meeting.

Jeff Steinberg returns to Lead us in Worship

Sunday - Aug. 15 at 10:00 a.m.

Jeff Steinberg wants you to know that, “God Has A Unique Design For Your Life!” He knows. He was born with what others would call Handicaps - He has NO arms or hands, and malformed legs.

This Tiny GIANT, at 4 feet 6 inches tall has a most unique message for you, your Ministry family and your Community - “Quit focusing on the Handicap and start appreciating the Gift.” For more than 35 years he has crisscrossed the globe delivering his very special message that "God uses the least likely person to accomplish the most extra-ordinary thing, in a most unique way." In his distinctive style, using humor, song and the Scriptures, Jeff shows us that each person is wonderfully created to be "Awesome and wonderful" with potential they never even dreamed possible.

Invite your friends, family, & neighbors to worship with you!
